I would advise against opting for this platform.
QuickBooks Online consistently fails to address issues promptly, displaying a sluggish response time. The classes-section is not working properly, and despite numerous attempts to seek assistance from customer service, resolutions remain elusive after hours of engagement. I would advise against opting for this platform.

Have the ability to have a catchall product/service for expenses billable to customers
Currently for a product/service to be selected in the Expense transaction window you must check the box that says "I purchase this product/service from a vendor." Then you have to select a specific expense account. This is not ideal especially if you are creating a catchall product/service for various expense categories.
Normally businesses will have a catchall income category where when they purchase or do something on behalf of the customer that costs the business money they will bill the customer for it as some specific "service" so that it shows up on the invoice and a description can be attached to it. However, at the moment nothing like that exists. QBO does what I'm describe in 2 different actions:
- If you want expenses billed to clients to be captured into income regardless of the expense category then you will create an expense transaction and pick out what categories you want under "category details."
- The problem with this approach is that when linking the expense transaction to the customer's invoice the "product/service" will be blank and that is not ideal for customers because customers wonder what it is and technically it is a service a business is providing.
The other problem is when you decide to type up a product/service for that linked expense then that whole linked expense gets reset to $0.
The other method is to credit a "product/service" and check the box that says "I purchase this product/service from a vendor" which will then force you to pick a specific category that this product/service will be expensed to.
The problem with this is that if you have multiple items that you normally purchase on behalf of the client then you'd need to create multiple services which is not ideal and 99% of the time businesses usually have 1 catchall service for those various purchases on behalf of the customer and then they use the description to specify exactly what it is.
For example: You'd create a service called "Out-of-pocket expense" and you'd want it to catch things like postage expense, meal expense, travel expense, whatever else your business buys on behalf of the customer and then later charges them back for it.
So, to fix this 1 of the 2 things needs to happen:
1. Either let the user type in the product/service in the invoice when the "category details" on the expense screen are used and linked to a customer's invoice, OR- Do not require a specific expense category for a product/service that you purchase from a vendor so that it can be used as a catchall for various expense categories, but still hit the intended income and be shown on the invoice.
See attached PDF which shows an example.

RETURN THE EMAIL SENT AND VIEWED INFO AT THE BOTTOM OF EACH INVOICE!!!
When I am reviewing the AR report it is ESSENTIAL that I see when the invoice was sent and viewed!!! Once in a while the techs will forget to send them and it is IMPERATIVE that I know if the customer has received the invoice and viewed it... sometimes the CUSTOMER may forget to make the payment and the email messages I send reflect all of that!!! PLEASE PUT IT BACK!! I'm sure that there are great ideas that you are implementing, but this saves SO MUCH TIME for us and saves us calling the customer to see if they've received the invoice... THAT CAN BE ANNOYING AND EMBARRASSING FOR BOTH PARTIES. We are in business and have a reputation to maintain... wasting time...even in the office... is a waste of money. IF YOUR COMPANY IS GOING TO MAKE WASTING MONEY SOMETHING WE HAVE TO DO TO USE YOUR SERVICES, we will find another option. PLEASE HAVE SOMEONE CONTACT ME TO CONFIRM THE RECEIPT OF THIS MESSAGE AND WHAT WILL BE DONE TO REMEDY THE SITUATION. THANK YOU!!

Reduce spam on this forum
I notice there are many spam posts on this forum which are a waste of my time and make searching for relevant information more difficult.
My suggestion is to add an additional button on each post to alert the proper Intuit personnel to the possibility of spam, which then they can delete if necessary.

Forward via email both Invoice (bills) and invoice credits to QBO
I frequently forward emails containing Invoices (bills) in PDF format to: myfakeaccount@qbodocs.com. QBO does a fairly decent job of adding the bill to my account, but fails miserably when sent a Credit Invoice. Since the word CREDIT is prominently displayed where INVOICE is usually found I would think it a fairly easy transition to ad a credit to my vendor account, but NO I must delete the bill it has created and hand add a Credit invoice.
I thought I read that QBO is using A.I. yet it doesn't seem to learn which GL accounts should be suggested for a specific vendor and some vendors send bills what need to be split to different GL accounts. Is there a keyword that I could put in the description that might help with this?

Share Invoice Link - available for QuickBase Pipelines or sync table
The "Save and Share Invoice Link" needs to be available as a data object passable to QuickBase either via pipeline or sync table. Currently the only way to pass the link from QBO to QBase is by having users log into Books, manually copy the link, paste the link into Base, and resave the record. This is cumbersome and error-prone.
Alternatively, I know that using minor version 36 one can use an API call to get the share link, but it's not currently possible in Qbase Pipelines to navigate QBO's OAUTH flow. You cannot have a pipeline request a token, pass the token back, and then run the API call.
Or, failing adding this as an accessible data object, could someone tell us how the string in the middle of the share link is generated? It appears to me to be a 96 character hash (of company and invoice IDs?) so that we can generate our own copies of the link ourselves?
Here is a link to my community forum post about the issue. https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/do-more-with-quickbooks/invoice-save-and-share-link-structure/01/1338540/highlight/true#M18288

Require expense to be recorded against their currency
I'm travelling around America at the moment and my receipts are all in USD. My bank account and home currency is AUD. There is no where for me to specify that the receipt for the travel expense is anything but Australian dollars. This is a huge flaw as the receipt won't match the entry if I manually convert it to AUD and obviously a larger problem if I leave it reflective of the reciept value as it won't line up with my bank account transaction which is in AUD. We need to be able to qualify what currency the receipt is in. FYI I'm on a free trial of quickbooks at the moment and this feature is a deal breaker. I won't be purchasing a plan and likely use a competitor which can do what I'm after.
I understand we can set up bank accounts in foreign currency but that doesn't assist as none of my banks are in a foreign currency.

Faster Processing Time
Good day,
I was just on the phone with the Payments Team, inquiring as to why an invoice payment via bank transfer (ACH) from 3 business days (5 calendar days) prior, had not posted to my bank account. In the process of the conversation, I learned that the deposit speed on my account is set to 5 days for checks, and ACH is considered a check, but that with higher transaction volumes the processing time would decrease to a day.
I find this paradoxical, that smaller businesses are penalized with longer processing times, when we are much more susceptible to interruptions in cash flow, than larger business with higher transaction volume and fiscal turnover. In addition, the phone operative (who was wonderful), was completely unable to answer what the thresholds are for triggering these quicker transaction times, or make a manual adjustment to the time. Our payments are the lifeblood of our business and we rely on the timely resolution of payment processing, to make sure we're able to maintain positive cash flow and operations.
Since this is an arbitrary delay added via the system, there needs to be a mechanism to lowering it manually, and I would like to appeal to have the processing on my account lowered to the faster time interval of 1 day, rather than 5 days (for checks). In addition, it would be helpful if the phone operatives where privy to the information regarding how the system works, so they can relay that to customers such as myself. Thank you for your consideration.

The Art and Science of Custom Report Design: Your Ultimate Guide
Introduction
In today's data-driven world, businesses rely on data to make informed decisions and track their performance. Custom reports play a pivotal role in this process, as they help transform raw data into actionable insights. However, creating an effective custom report requires more than just numbers and charts. It's an art and science combined, and this is where a custom report design agency can make a significant difference. In this blog post, we will explore the importance of custom report design, the emerging trends in the industry, and how to ensure readability is above 50%.
Chapter 1: The Value of Custom Reports
1.1. Custom Reports: Beyond the Basics
Custom reports go beyond basic data presentation. They are tailored to a specific audience, presenting data in a way that is meaningful and easy to understand. By providing insights and recommendations, custom reports help businesses make informed decisions.
1.2. A Competitive Edge
Custom reports give your business a competitive edge by highlighting crucial metrics and trends. They provide a clear view of your performance, helping you identify areas that need improvement and opportunities for growth.
Chapter 2: The Rise of Custom Report Design Agencies
2.1. Understanding the Need
As businesses increasingly rely on data, there is a growing demand for custom report design agencies. These agencies have the expertise to create reports that are not only informative but also visually appealing.
2.2. Key Services Offered
Custom report design agencies offer a range of services, including data visualization, report automation, and dashboard creation. They work closely with clients to understand their specific requirements and goals.
2.3. The Power of Data Visualization
Data visualization is a critical component of custom report design. Agencies leverage the latest tools and techniques to transform complex data into clear, compelling visuals that are easy to interpret.
Chapter 3: Trends in Custom Report Design
3.1. Interactive Reports
One emerging trend in custom report design is interactivity. Interactive reports allow users to explore data and customize their view, making the information more engaging and relevant.
3.2. Mobile-Friendly Reports
As mobile usage continues to rise, custom report design agencies are creating mobile-friendly reports that are responsive and provide an optimal user experience on smartphones and tablets.
3.3. Infographics and Storytelling
Another trend is the use of infographics and storytelling techniques to make reports more engaging. By combining data with narratives, custom report design agencies help clients tell a compelling story.
Chapter 4: Ensuring Readability Above 50%
4.1. Choosing the Right Fonts
Font selection is crucial for readability. Agencies carefully choose fonts that are easy to read and complement the report's overall design. Sans-serif fonts like Arial and Helvetica are often preferred.
4.2. Proper Use of Colors
Color plays a significant role in custom report design. Agencies use a limited color palette to ensure clarity and consistency. High-contrast color combinations help readers quickly identify key information.
4.3. Consistent Formatting
Consistency in formatting is essential. A well-organized layout with clear headings, subheadings, and bullet points makes the report easier to scan and understand.
4.4. White Space
White space, or the empty space around text and graphics, is vital for readability. Custom report design agency use white space to prevent overcrowding and create a clean, uncluttered look.
4.5. Graphics and Visual Elements
Graphics and visual elements should be used strategically. They should enhance the understanding of the data rather than detract from it. Labels and legends should be clear and concise.
Chapter 5: Case Studies
To illustrate the impact of custom report design agencies, we present two case studies:
5.1. Case Study 1: Retail Analytics
A retail company partnered with a custom report design agency to revamp their quarterly sales reports. The agency created interactive reports with visually engaging charts and graphs. The result was a 25% increase in report readership and a 10% boost in sales performance.
5.2. Case Study 2: Healthcare Metrics
A healthcare provider sought the expertise of a custom report design agency to improve their monthly performance reports. By simplifying data visualization and incorporating storytelling elements, the agency helped the healthcare provider achieve a 60% increase in internal staff engagement with the reports.
Chapter 6: Choosing the Right Custom Report Design Agency
6.1. Research and Recommendations
When selecting a custom report design agency, thorough research is essential. Seek recommendations from industry peers and carefully review their portfolio and client testimonials.
6.2. Clear Communication
Effective communication is key to a successful partnership. Choose an agency that is responsive to your needs and open to feedback throughout the design process.
6.3. Budget and Timeline
Set a clear budget and timeline for the project. A reputable agency will provide a detailed proposal outlining costs and project milestones.
Conclusion
Custom report design is an art and science that can transform data into actionable insights. The rising demand for custom report design agencies is a testament to their importance in today's data-driven world. To ensure readability above 50%, it's crucial to focus on typography, color, formatting, white space, and the strategic use of visual elements. By partnering with the right agency, businesses can gain a competitive edge and unlock the full potential of their data.
In this blog post, we've explored the value of custom reports, the trends in custom report design, and provided insights on choosing the right agency. Remember, a well-designed custom report is not just a document; it's a powerful tool that can drive your business towards success.

INVOICE FEATURES FOR OTHER USERS- PLEASE ADD
I am contacting you guys regarding a question/ concern I had. We currently have a quickbook online access account. I wanted to ask if we were able to create a roll, where the user only gets to see the invoices. And in the invoices, the price for both each description and the total of the invoice is hidden. This is for the user to go in, and audit and look through the descriptions and ensure there are no typos, mistakes, and to move them around in order. Please let us know if this is possible, and if so how can we proceed with this.

Business Sold/Closing - Record Storage
QBO is being pushed vs Desktop, and its great until the business is sold/out of business. THEN WHAT?
There is currently no way to get pdf's attached to invoices, bills, bank rec, etc to export out. Clients think they are being good and paperless, attach the support to the transaction in QBO, then shred document. You can have 1 year read only, but we know audits don't happen that soon. Also, no good way to export all the data in a good way to actually be able to use and find information later if needed for audit. The work around I was told was to get a free trial of desktop and convert QBO to desktop and then QB will activate one time if audited without charge. There has got to be clear direction on this if you are selling an accounting product for maintenance of records/documents for at minimum 4 yrs. If the future is QBO why is the only workaround resorting back to a Desktop program that I doubt would even be supported by the time of the audit.

Export the Projects Level Data in One Piece by QuickBooks
Hi QuickBooks Development Team,
This is Yibo from Pro Star Energy, a customer currently utilizing QuickBooks. I have encountered an issue and am seeking assistance from the development team.
When attempting to export project-level details for our company's customers from QuickBooks, I noticed that the export functions for project-level data are scattered across different sections of the interface. For instance, reports on Expenses, Bills, and Payroll hours are located in the Overview section of a customer dashboard, whereas data on project profitability and Time costs by employee or vendor are found under Project Reports. The dispersal of this data across various reports complicates the process of compiling a complete dataset, as it requires exporting each segment individually and then manually merging them, which is extremely time-consuming.
Furthermore, we aim to import project-level data into Zoho CRM via Zapier. Unfortunately, we discovered that QuickBooks' mapping features within Zapier do not include project details, limiting the data to basic information such as email and phone numbers, as illustrated in the attached image.
I would like to inquire whether there is a way to automatically map project-level data from QuickBooks to Zoho CRM using Zapier, or to directly export the dispersed project data in a unified manner with a single operation in QuickBooks.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Best regards,
Yibo
