Wallpaper Installation and Tips for Home Renovation
Hey, has anyone here had issues with wallpaper peeling after a while? I'm in the middle of renovating my living room, and I used a high-quality wallpaper, but I noticed some edges starting to lift. Anyone know how to fix that without completely redoing it?

Oh, I’ve been looking for a reliable wallpaper installer. That’s super helpful, thanks for sharing! I’ll definitely keep that in mind for my next project.

Got it, I’ll pick up some of that next time I’m out. By the way, if anyone's looking for pros to install their wallpaper (especially if you’re in Houston), I found a really great service wallpaper removal in Houston https://bestwallpaperinstaller.com/locations/wallpaper-installers-houston/. They did a fantastic job in my friend's place!

I’ve tried cheaper alternatives before, but they didn’t always give a strong enough bond, especially on textured wallpapers. Just make sure it’s the right type for your wallpaper—there’s a difference between paste-the-wall and paste-the-paper adhesives.

Thanks! I’ll give that a try and see how it holds up. Do you use a specific brand of adhesive for this, or just whatever you can find at the store? I want to make sure I don’t make it worse!

Honestly, if it’s just the edges peeling and the rest of it looks okay, you can definitely patch it up without tearing the whole thing off. I usually use a small paintbrush to apply wallpaper adhesive right under the lifted edges and then smooth it out. It should hold for a while if you press down firmly and clean up the excess glue quickly. Just be careful not to make the edges too wet when you’re fixing them.

That’s a good point, I hadn’t thought about moisture. I’ll check for that! But do you think I should remove the wallpaper around the edges and reapply it with more adhesive, or is there a way to patch it up without removing it?

I’ve had the same problem before, especially in humid rooms like bathrooms. It usually happens when the wallpaper isn't applied properly or the adhesive isn’t strong enough. My first suggestion would be to check if there’s any moisture behind the wallpaper. If it’s just the edges peeling, you might be able to use some extra adhesive to stick them back down. Just make sure to smooth them out gently so you don’t damage the paper.
