Understanding these common problems can help Chevrolet owners maintain their vehicles better and ensure a smooth driving experience. This guide aims to outline the frequently reported issues in various Chevrolet models, and offer potential solutions.
1. Issues with the Transmission System
1.1 Impala's Notorious Transmission Failure
The 2005 Chevrolet Impala is infamous for its transmission system issues. Owners have reported experiencing loud noises, jerking, and stuttering, preceding a complete transmission failure. Such a malfunction requires a comprehensive overhaul, which can be quite costly.
1.2 Trailblazer, Cruze, and Silverado Models' Hard Shifting Problem
Several Chevrolet models, including Trailblazer, Cruze, and Silverado, have been reported to experience hard shifting, stall outs, lurching, and jerking. These transmission-related issues can hamper the seamless driving experience that Chevrolet promises.
1.3 Malibu's Transmission Troubles
Chevrolet Malibu models, particularly those from 2002, 2004, 2005, 2009, 2010, and 2016, are known to suffer from transmission problems. Issues include jerking, rough gear changes, and failure, especially in high-mileage vehicles.
2. Oil Consumption and Cold Weather Adaptability
Chevrolet Equinox models, particularly those from 2005, 2007, and 2013-2016, are notorious for excessive oil consumption. Owners have reported that the oil burns off too quickly, causing potential engine damage. Moreover, the interior components of this model are not adequately designed to withstand cold weather, leading to further problems.
3. Air Conditioning and Drivetrain Problems
3.1 Colorado's Faulty Air Conditioning Blower
The Chevrolet Colorado model has had several instances of malfunctioning air conditioning blowers. A defective blower can significantly hamper the vehicle's climate control system, making the ride uncomfortable, especially in extreme weather conditions.
3.2 Shifting Delay and Power Steering Loss
Another common mechanical problem in the Chevrolet Colorado is a shifting delay. Drivers have reported a delay that lasts for more than three seconds, causing inconvenience during gear changes. Additionally, instances of power steering loss and engine misfires have also been reported.
4. Fuel Pump Failure in Blazer Models
The Chevrolet Blazer is another model prone to mechanical issues. The most significant problem reported by Blazer owners is fuel pump failure. An insufficient fuel supply from the tank can prevent the vehicle from starting, necessitating costly repairs.
5. Malibu's Engine Power Loss
Engine power loss is a common issue with the Chevrolet Malibu. This problem can significantly hamper the vehicle's performance, leading to frustrating driving experiences. Power steering malfunction, broken front coil spring, and a cracked intake manifold gasket are other common issues with Malibu models.
6. Steering Wheel Locking in Silverado and Colorado
Chevrolet Silverado and Colorado models have reported instances of steering wheel locking while driving, which can be potentially dangerous. Drivers have had to continuously jiggle the steering wheel to keep it functioning, leading to unsafe driving conditions.
7. Water Leaks in Chevrolet Models
Water leakage is a common issue in several Chevrolet models, with the Equinox being the most affected. Leaks around the windows lead to moisture and mistiness, while issues with the sunroof can cause water pooling inside the vehicle.
8. Brake and Electrical System Malfunctions
Chevrolet vehicles, especially the Suburban, Camaro, and Silverado models, have reported multiple issues with their braking systems. Instances of brake locks failing during driving and brake assist failure have been reported. Additionally, electrical defects like failing backup cameras, defective parking assist, and difficulties with Bluetooth connectivity add to the list of potential problems.
9. Excessive Oil Consumption and Engine Problems
Excessive oil consumption and engine problems have been reported across several Chevrolet models, including SUVs, pickup trucks, and cars. Such issues can pose safety risks, increase repair costs, and generally worsen the driving experience for Chevrolet owners.
10. Delays in Parts and Repairs
Chevrolet owners have often complained about lengthy delays in getting necessary parts for their vehicle repairs. Such delays can be extremely inconvenient as they prolong the waiting time for necessary repairs and can leave the vehicle unusable for weeks or even months.

Brake Fluid Change: A Comprehensive Guide
Brake Fluid Change: A Comprehensive Guide
To ensure your vehicle's safety and operational efficiency, regular maintenance is crucial. One aspect often overlooked but critical to your car's braking system is the brake fluid. This article will delve deep into the world of brake fluid changes, exploring the importance of this procedure, signs that indicate it's time for a change, the cost involved, and more.
1. The Importance of Brake Fluid
Brake fluid plays a vital role in your vehicle's braking system. Acting as the lifeblood of your brakes, it's responsible for transmitting the force of your foot on the brake pedal to the brake discs or shoes, allowing your vehicle to slow down or stop.
1.1. The Role of Brake Fluid
Like oil for your engine, brake fluid is critical for your vehicle's safety. It operates under high temperatures and pressures, withstanding rigorous conditions while maintaining its properties.
1.2. Hydraulic Braking System
Modern vehicles predominantly use hydraulic brakes for slowing and stopping. Here, the brake fluid (also known as hydraulic fluid) comes into play. Over time, however, this fluid can become contaminated.
2. Contamination of Brake Fluid
Even though the hydraulic brake system is sealed, the brake fluid can become dirty and contaminated over several years of normal use.
2.1. Causes of Contamination
There are several causes of brake fluid contamination. The additives in the brake fluid may wear out over time, or moisture can find its way into the hydraulic brake system and start to affect the brake fluid chemistry.
2.2. Effects of Contaminated Brake Fluid
Contaminated brake fluid can dramatically impact your brakes' performance. You may notice a spongy feeling when you step on the pedal, or your vehicle may not stop as quickly when making a hard stop.
3. Signs You Need a Brake Fluid Change
Recognizing the signs that your vehicle needs a brake fluid change is crucial to maintaining its optimal performance and safety.
3.1. Soft, Spongy, or Bouncy Brake Pedal
A soft, spongy or bouncy brake pedal is a common sign that a brake fluid change is due. If you need to press the brake pedal all the way down before your vehicle slows or stops, it's time for a brake fluid check.
3.2. ABS Dashboard Light
The ABS dashboard light indicates an issue with your anti-lock braking system. If this light comes on, it could be a sign that your brake fluid is low and needs replacing.
3.3. Ineffective Braking Performance
Any delays or difficulties while slowing or stopping could indicate a need for a brake fluid change. Other potential issues could be warped rotors, worn brake pads, or a problem with another brake system component.
3.4. Strange Noises or Smells when Braking
Unusual sounds or burning smells while braking could be due to low brake fluid or another brake system issue. If you notice these signs, it's best to get your vehicle checked by a professional.
4. Brake Fluid Change Frequency
Knowing how often to change your brake fluid is also essential. Most manufacturers recommend replacing your brake fluid every two to three years or every 45,000 miles, whichever comes first.
4.1. Manufacturer's Recommendations
Each vehicle manufacturer may have different recommendations for brake fluid change intervals. Therefore, it's best to refer to your vehicle's owner manual for precise information.
4.2. Visual Check
You can also perform a visual check of the brake fluid yourself. If the fluid looks dark or murky, it's time for a brake fluid change.
5. Types of Brake Fluid
There are several types of brake fluid available, including D.O.T. 3, D.O.T. 4, and D.O.T. 5. Each type has its pros and cons, and the type of brake fluid your vehicle needs will depend on its make and model.
5.1. D.O.T. 3 and D.O.T. 4 Fluid
Many vehicles call for either D.O.T. 3 or D.O.T. 4 fluid. These brake fluids have been around for a while and are trusted by several vehicle manufacturers.
5.2. D.O.T. 5 Fluid
D.O.T. 5 fluid is a newer variant and has several advantages. It doesn't eat paint or absorb moisture, making it a great improvement over its predecessors. However, because it doesn't absorb water, any water that enters your brake system can form pools that can corrode your brakes.
6. Changing Brake Fluid: DIY Approach
Changing brake fluid yourself is possible, but it requires some mechanical know-how and the right tools.
6.1. Tools and Materials
To change your brake fluid, you'll need a baster for removing the old fluid and some lint-free cloth for wiping out the reservoir. You'll also need fresh brake fluid and possibly a brake fluid test kit.
6.2. The Process
The process involves removing the dirty fluid from the master cylinder reservoir, cleaning it, and refilling it with fresh brake fluid.
7. Professional Brake Fluid Change Services
Service facilities now use brake flushing machines to change brake fluid.
7.1. Brake Fluid Flushing Machines
These machines flush and replace the brake fluid in your brake system, ensuring a thorough and efficient process.
7.2. Professional Recommendations
If there's no recommendation in your vehicle's owner manual about how often to change brake fluid, you can consult a professional technician for guidance.
8. Brake Fluid Change Cost
The cost of a brake fluid change can vary depending on your vehicle's make and model and the service provider. However, it's generally affordable and much less expensive than the cost of replacing brake system components damaged by contaminated brake fluid.
9. Routine Maintenance for Brake Fluid Changes
Routine maintenance is key to keeping your vehicle running smoothly. On average, a brake fluid change is recommended every 2 years or 30,000 miles, depending on your driving patterns. In case, you are looking for a trusted tyre repair shop, we would like to suggest you Service My Car, the best and trusted tyre repair shop in the town.
10. Conclusion
A brake fluid change is a crucial part of vehicle maintenance. Whether you choose to do it yourself or opt for professional service, regular brake fluid changes will ensure your vehicle's safety and optimal performance. So, don't wait for signs of trouble. Keep your brakes in top shape with timely brake fluid changes.

Estimate Subtotal Headings
Hello QBO Online team - I'm posting this in the mobile section because I'm having a tough time finding where to create a new idea in the QBO Online forums, I hope it reaches the right people.
It would be very helpful to add a feature that allows the user to create headings within the content of an estimate. If a job has multiple parts, it can be hard in the current format to delineate between them.
The subtotal function is good, but it would be more useful if the user were able to title or give a heading to each subtotal section.
For instance, if I owned a landscaping company, and was approached by a business with multiple locations for an estimate, subtotals with headings would allow me to create a single estimate that encompassed all of the work I would do for each of those locations. If the business decided they only wanted me to work on one or two of the locations, it would be very easy for them to see which location cost what amount.
At the moment, the simplest thing to do is to create multiple estimates, which can look unwieldy and unprofessional.
Please add this if it's possible! Thanks very much!

Features from QuickBooks Accountant Desktop that need to be added to QuickBooks Online
The batch invoicing tool in QuickBooks Online is very limited relative to the batch invoicing tool In QuickBooks Accountant Desktop. I should be able to enter more than 30 invoices at once, copy down a field from the top cell in a column to all of the cells in the column beneath it which have invoice numbers assigned, and paste in multiple cells worth of data at once. These were great features of Desktop and QuickBooks Online not having these features has made switching unbearable. Transactions should also be able to be imported through an IIF file, as this allows for a wider range of transactions to be imported than through a CSV.

I would like for it to be optional to have anything entered into the address field that is printed on checks.
Currently quickbooks online automatically places the vendor's name in the address field and do not allow for it to be removed. I would like to have the option to remove that. it makes the checks look weird by printing the name twice. quickbooks desktop which I have always used prior to this year gives that option and it looks much nicer without the name printed twice with no purpose.

Make it easier for credit/overpayment refunds to be entered on QB
The work around that needs to be done when you issue a refund or receive a refund/credit refund on QB is too complicated for anyone without accountancy training. It’s fine to do as an accountant, as we understand the double entry processes that need to be put through, but trying to explain all the transactions that need doing when a client wants to do this themselves can cause huge problems and takes much longer to explain than if we just did it for them!! Can’t QB create a refund credit/overpayment option that does all the transactions/journals in the background (in the same way invoices and payments get processed)? It would make life so much easier….

My company recently converted from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online. I am the finance director of my company. I report the budget to actual numbers monthly along with our performances. The desktop version allowed me to compare budget to actuals by class to determine if we came in over or under budget. Now with QBO, I don't have that feature of having a budget to actuals report by class. The class we use as our performances. We have over 35 performances per year in the orchestra. Is there a work around for this? This seems like this should be a feature that would be included in Quickbooks Online. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you
