The antivirus software you use can interfere with the functioning of your QuickBooks application. It’s usually caused when your antivirus falsely flags some of the executable files needed for your QuickBooks app to function. To fix this issue, you need to make QuickBooks antivirus exclusions in your software. The steps to make exclusions vary depending on the AV (antivirus) software you use. For example, if you’re a user of McAfee, navigate to My Protection, browse to Device, and choose Real-time Scanning. Then click on Excluded Files, press Add File, and browse to the QB executable file you want to make an exclusion for, and repeat the steps for every executable file.
