Can anyone explain why these pixel characters are so important? I understand they're rare, but is there more to them? I'm genuinely interested in learning more about their appeal and why people are so passionate about them.

CryptoPunks are special because they were the first big NFT project, like digital collectibles that started the whole craze. They're rare, simple, and feel like owning a piece of internet history.

These are some of the first NFTs that set a trend. The point is not even in the graphics, but in the fact that each character is unique and fixed in the blockchain.
