Need to approve split-shift time entries at different pay rates
I think there is a problem with how time entries get approved when a shift crosses into a different pay rate. Here's the situation: an employee clocks in at 9 PM and works straight through to 6 AM. Our night shift rate doesn't start until 1 AM though, so we have them clock out at 1 AM and clock back in immediately, just so the system creates two separate entries, one for the regular rate hours and one for the night rate hours.
The problem is when it comes time to approve, we have no way to approve that second entry (1 AM to 6 AM) at the lower night shift rate specifically. It just doesn't give us that option. So we're stuck either approving it wrong, or going around the system some other way to make sure people get paid correctly.
This might seem small but it's a big deal for us. We have employees working overnight shifts regularly, and if we can't approve time at the correct rate for each portion of the shift, we're either overpaying or underpaying people every single time this happens. We need this fixed.
