Allow customers to make partial payments. Forcing full payments will drive customers away from using this payment method.
Users should be given the option of paying either the full invoice amount or making a partial payment.
If a user wants to make a partial payment and inadvertently ends up hitting the "pay" button in the current system, the merchant has to issue a credit for the overpayment, or deal with an upset customer.
This creates more headaches and paperwork for the merchant.
Even if a credit is issued, the merchant loses some customer good will. Also, customers who feel that the Quickbooks payment system is forcing them into making full payment amounts will stop using it.12 votes -

Let me pay in advance, or carry a credit balance, so I am never late. Otherwise, there are about a dozen reasons why I might not be paying as quickly as I would like.

Multiple payments
It would be great if there was an option to pay more than one payment at once, like if someone wanted to pay for the next 3 months right now and then not have to pay again until those 3 months are up, or an option to pay the rest of their balance for the remainder of the year.

ability to change amount being paid.
Well there was a reason I wanted to pay a different amount, to add a bill I knew was coming soon. But no option to do so. I would imagine there would also be times (incomplete work) where I might want to hold part of the payment back.

You must provide a process to prove to me that you are you and that you represent the people I am trying to pay.
I just gave you everything you need to empty my checking account. Based on a email and a web site. All of which are easily spoofable.
You must do better than this. RSA based public key signing of your invoice is the minimum you should do to prove your identity.

In the past the hyperlink was active in the e-mail you sent out. Continue to make the payment hyperlink active so we can click it and pay it

Would be very helpful to know what the invoice is for
I get many bills from this company but often pay them from different accounts depending on the project. Any identifying information would help. Now I need to go back through my bills to know that this invoice covers.
