Additional totals/Added markup fee Functionality in QBO/Mobile App [DTM feature]
Make the "Markup" column available to online QuickBooks services for Billable Expense flow!
The desktop version had a very useful tool with the "markup" column, allowing businesses, that use parts as well as labor services, to add a percentage to the store's cost of parts without needing to grab a calculator and figure it out each time. This service is not available on the online version of QuickBooks.
Please bring this feature to the online services!

This is critical in our business to make sure that we are selling at a profit. With products increasing in price every time we order this was a check to make sure that the markup was adequate. Plus some jobs need more markup due to different variables so the desktop markup gave us a way to adjust it. This is going to be a huge inconvenience and time issue with out this feature in the online version.

I’ve been using QuickBooks desktop for about 12 years. Thought it would be a great idea to migrate over to the QuickBooks online which I did six months ago. Little did I know I would be losing so much functionality for my small business. my clients depend on an accurate estimate and an accurate estimate is only able to be done with my catalog items with a specific markup. I deal with wholesale and retail clients so my markups vary. Markups need to be customized to each customer.
Also the form styles of the estimates and invoices are virtually unreadable to my clients compared to what I was able to produce for them on the desktop version. QB online is awful for my business. I have to go back to a desktop ball and chain. Might not choose QB. I’m shopping. Very disappointed.

We're not understanding why this basic business concept is not included in the more costly version of Quickbooks. Please add a markup column on estimates and invoices, making it an option to be hid from the customer's view.

In the desktop Quickbooks please please please add a function where we can enter the cost and markup amounts so we can easily figure our margins when completing estimates.
Thank you
Steve

So although it is now available with the online version, when you inovice the customer it shows the mark up as a line item stating "mark-up" We do not want our clients seeing he mark up.

The Desktop version of Quickbooks allows for one to enter cost and markup to arrive at the estimated figure to go to client.

A Mark up column is crucial to my quoting process. Different categories of customers get a different mark up from my price list. This version is causing me to have MULTIPLE price lists. Horribly time consuming not to mention risky. When will this FIX be added? I was told the online version was similar to desktop. This is deal breaker!

A fundamental invoicing and quoting capability is NOT present in an "accounting package"!!!
How is that even possible ??
One HAS to be able to adjust markup per item in a quote and in an invoice.
I can only assume this was left off in error , so PLEASE get this added ASAP it is not possible to advertise QBO as an accounting package without the absolute bare minimum accounting capabilities.
I wish I had noticed this when I evaluated a number of accounting packages and the chose QB. I DEFINITELY would not have chosen QB had I seen this, but I guess I never looked for this, because like buying a car I never look to see if it has a fuel tank, I just assume it does. -

A markup column is needed in QBO. It allows businesses to add a variable profit to non-inventory materials. Even if it was a fixed amount, QBO requires that I go into every product and add the markup as a sales price on top of cost (outrageous amount of setup time), and even then there's no way to see, when creating an estimate, what the profit will be on materials. I just spoke with a rep who said I could upgrade to Plus membership to track project profits - I assume this means the difference between cost and sales price. That membership/plan is not a reasonable expense for a small business with no payroll or inventory tracking. Being able to track job profit is an enormous part of any business' books, large or small, so this is a big problem for QBO. Deal-breaker, actually. No doubt many small businesses return to Desktop after learning this.

Since Invoices are created from Estimates, and clients don't like seeing their bill be more than they expected based on their estimate, having the ability to add a markup to products and services on the estimate would make the transition to an invoice more seamless. It would also match the bills you create with markup already in them.

It would be great if we could add a markup percentage or value when creating billable expenses in the mobile app.
