The receipt needs to have a date on it!
Put a DATE on the receipt so I know when I paid it! This is really bad, guys. Makes this receipt almost useless.
Also, it would be nice to have the work description on the receipt, not just the invoice number.4 votes -

It is a terrible idea to only permitting clicking on email to pay
It is just an invitation for fraud to encourage your billed customers to click on entries in their emails. This is the most common method for spoofing web sites. Instead you should include a textual URL in addition to the "Click to pay" button for people to cut and paste into their browsers. Or encourage your customers to ask people to go to their web sites for the pay button. Anything other but what you currently do would be better.

Accept PayPal Keys
I tried paying my vendor with my PayPal Master Card Key, and I only got an "error try again later" with no explanation. This caused unnecessary frustration and will end up costing me extra finance charges because I had to use a different credit card.

If your business gets invoiced, and you yourself have a Quickbooks account for your business, it should automatically show up as an expense in your account.

invoices should always show diagnostic codes, dates, name of client
Documentation is generally inadequate on your general invoice form, and your receipts as well. I always need to keep very detailed records of expenses, in order to submit for reimbursement. Invoices and receipts should always show as much information as is available, including client name, dates of service, diagnostic code, name of service provider, address, contact info, etc. Too much info is far better than not enough. A receipt should have a PAID indication near the bottom.
