Don't be so fussy about browser version - if Amazon can do e-commerce on extremely old browsers, simple payment processing can be done on one version back of Firefox ESR.

$35 for a convenienc
$35 for a convenience fee to pay online is horrible. Would you rather have a check snail mailed? I get the fee if I use a credit card but not for paying with bank information.
