Installation charges for wind turbines in India
Installing a wind turbine (Pawan Chakki) in India comes with extra costs apart from just buying the machine. These installation charges can vary a lot depending on the size of the turbine, location, height of the tower, and who is doing the work.
For small wind turbines used in homes or farms (like 300 watts to 1 kW), installation can cost between ₹10,000 to ₹50,000. This includes setting up the pole or tower, fixing the turbine on top, and connecting it to your electrical system or battery. If you are setting it up in a remote place, travel and labor charges may also be higher.
For medium-sized turbines (2 kW to 5 kW), installation can go up to ₹1 lakh or more, because these turbines are heavier and need a stronger base or tower. You also need proper wiring, charge controllers, and sometimes batteries to store electricity. All these things add to the cost.
Big wind turbines (10 kW or more) need cranes, civil work, trained engineers, and strong foundations. Installation for such systems may cost ₹2–5 lakh or more depending on the location and materials used.
It’s always better to ask for a full quote from the supplier. Some companies offer a complete package that includes the wind turbine, tower, inverter, batteries, and installation. This is often more affordable than doing everything separately. Also, check if any local government scheme is offering help or subsidies—it can reduce your total cost.
