On all invoices it should state exactly what the payment was for and not just an invoice number. This helps your clients keep good books too

Create an Account Loop
I filled out banking info in all fields. I then choose to create an account as its call to action was front and center. After creating an account I then had to reinput the bank info. It would be nice to input the info, make the payment and then be prompted to make an account. It would also be nice if that payment info auto filled in the create an account section.
Also, it was hard to recognize the pay button at the bottom. More negative space in the bottom fixed bar and lifting the button higher on the page…

make it easier to get a copy of an invoice that shows it was paid
After I pay an invoice, there is a link to download a copy of the invoice. But that pdf copy doesn't show the invoice was paid! If I go back to the "payment request" email and click on "review and pay," that will take me to a page saying the invoice was paid and will let me download a proper invoice saying "PAID." But those extra steps shouldn't be necessary, especially because most of the time I do that I'm forced to log in again -- including getting a 2FA code from my authenticator app and submitting it. Integrate AMEX with quickbooks online. Currently AMEX is not authorized to work with QB which is a big deal breaker. QB online support says they can't fix the issue of connecting banks. It's a shame

Setting up an Account
I tried to reestablish or verify that I had an account, perhaps with TurboTax, but when I entered the information to proceed, it wouldn't allow me to; it came to a stand still.

Why can't I see all the invoices sent to sam82194@gmail.com (full history) when I sign in as sam82194@gmail.com? It seems so obvious that I spent some time hunting for this view.
In docusign, they let you see all docs you signed which were sent to sam82194@gmail.com if you sign-in as sam82194@gmail.com -- same principle.

Name receipts uniquely, not just "receipt"
Each receipt downloaded is titled "receipt" . Add invoice number or allow customer to title the download.

Auto-populate bill info into QBO Vendors > Bills in my own account.
When I pay a vendor's bill who is using QBO, I would like the information to automatically transfer to my own QBO account so that I don't have to manually enter the bill and payment again.

Better "Error" Messages
We tried to pay an invoice with my wife's card and got "an error has occurred -- try again later", or something like that. We triple-checked our credit card info, tried again, and got the same not-helpful message. Then we tried my card and got the same not-helpful message.
That night I picked up my cell phone to check e-mail and found three text messages from Citibank asking me to verify "an unusually large charge". I signed on to their site, and sure enough there were three rejected charges. Once I verified the charge and tried again this morning, it…

Make the "Download Receipt" filename include the invoice #
When I click Download Receipt, all I get as a file name is "Receipt", and there's no easy way to access the Invoice # so I can create a meaningful unique filename. So, essentially, this is a request to help me cutout 1 or 2 extra bit's of tedium when saving the receipt file.

In my opinion, there is no improvement necessary.
Excellent, user-friendly site for paying my invoice. My total time to complete my transaction and hit “Send Payment” was less than 2 minutes. 😀
