The "view invoice" button needs to make it clear that it's a payment button as well. Like "view and/or pay."
I am a merchant using this same service and customers call me all the time, unaware that they need to click the button to pay.
It should say "pay here," not just view.

Email preview in google
When I am sent an invoice to my google email account, it shows my little email preview, it says PAID. Confusing when multiple people on our end receive invoices and have access to payment information, to know if they did in fact pay it or not.

List out all the detail about the treatments.
List out all the treatments. Numbers of each type not listed. Handwritten copy sent prior to invoice hard to read.

You messaging is not clear. I have an account with you myself and my customers don't get that they can click on the "view invoice" button to make a payment.
It should say something other than "view invoice."
It should say "print invoice or make a payment." Something like that. View is not the action that your Quickbooks customers want taken, they want payment.
As a call to action, this email is horrible and it doesn't work for your customers.
If you won't change it, at least make it so that your customers can change it. I would love for…

Allow customization of payment request email
Allow the colors and layouts of outbound invoice emails to be customized.

Send invoice and all tax-related correspondence to the person noted as the primary contact.
Somewhere earlier in the tax-preparation process, notify the primary contact
1) the invoice will be sent via email.
2) tax returns will not be sent until invoice is paid.
