Allow spaces and dashes in credit card numbers. It shouldn't be the user's responsibility to guess your format requirements. You can filter the spaces and dashes before validating and storing.

Poor security for payment with a personal account
There seems to be no security at all. Anyone who has a copy of my check can post a payment!
There needs to be some additional authentication method to confirm that the person entering the information is authorized to use the account to make the payment.
