Kashmir weather update of May
In May 2025, the Kashmir Valley experienced an unprecedented heatwave, with temperatures soaring well above normal seasonal averages. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that maximum day temperatures remained 4–6°C above normal in most parts of the Kashmir division, with minimum night temperatures also 4–6°C above normal. The highest maximum temperature was recorded at Muzaffarabad (39.0°C) in the Kashmir division.
