I've been using QuickBooks Online for about 3 years across two companies. For day-to-day bookkeeping it works well, but as the business scaled, the built-in reporting started showing its limits pretty quickly.

The core issue: QBO data lives in isolation. When you need to combine financial data from QBO with sales data from your CRM, inventory from your warehouse system, and operational metrics from other tools — there's no clean way to do it natively. You end up exporting CSVs and stitching things together manually, which is fine until it isn't.

What I'd love to see is a more robust API and native data warehouse connectivity — something that makes it easier to push QBO data into a centralized data store without custom middleware.

It solved the problem but it would be genuinely great if QBO had tighter native integration options for businesses that have outgrown basic reporting. Even documented best practices for connecting QBO to external BI tools would be a step forward.
