On the occasion of India's 76th Republic Day, President Droupadi Murmu conferred the prestigious Padma Awards to 139 distinguished individuals for their exceptional contributions in various fields. The awards were presented in three categories: Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri. This year, the list includes 7 Padma Vibhushan, 19 Padma Bhushan, and 113 Padma Shri awardees. Notably, 23 of this year’s honorees are women, 10 are NRI/PIO/OCI/foreigners, and 13 are posthumous .

Padma Vibhushan (Highest Civilian Award)

The Padma Vibhushan is awarded for exceptional and distinguished service. This year, the recipients include:

1. M T Vasudevan Nair (Posthumous) – Literature and Education
2. Osamu Suzuki – Trade and Industry
3. Jagdish Singh Khehar – Public Affairs
4. Pankaj Udhas (Posthumous) – Art
5. Manohar Joshi (Posthumous) – Public Affairs
6. Sushil Kumar Modi (Posthumous) – Public Affairs
7. Vinod Dham – Science and Engineering
