Every Accountant I've ever worked with has had to be held by the hand and walked through this by me in order to be able to undo the reconciliation. Many companies I've worked for do not have an Accountant User because their accountant is not a strong Quickbooks user. Strong understanding of Quickbooks is not, and should not, be a primary consideration in picking an Accountant. The fact that QBO Support can't even help me is just salt in the wound.
I have yet to encounter a single individual who does not despise this technical flaw. And that includes Users, Accountants, and Intuit Support staff.
I have had to deal with this issue nearly a dozen times in the past few years for multiple companies, and every single time it's a headache. Especially since some reconciliation issues were caused by QuickBooks itself suffering a technical error, and then they can't fix it.
