Hi Quickbooks, I hop
Hi Quickbooks, I hope you are well! I am wondering if you can help me regarding an issue with the automatic invoicing feature? Currently, the automatic payment option shown to customers indicates that they will be charged “weekly,” regardless of the actual billing cadence (e.g., every two weeks or every four weeks).
It appears that the cadence variable is not being pulled into the text field that displays the automatic payment frequency. As a result, the UI defaults to “weekly” for all recurring invoices, even when the underlying schedule is biweekly or every four weeks.
This has created a transparency issue: there is no visible field in the customer-facing invoice, payment interface, or email that accurately reflects the billing frequency. Previously, the billing cadence was at least displayed in the body of the customer email, but that section also seems to have been removed (it is still showing in some clients emails who were set up with automatic invoicing prior to the change in the email body). But the billing cadence is no longer showing up in the emails for new clients.
Because of this, clients are seeing incorrect information about how often they’re being billed, which leads to confusion and distrust in both my business and the QuickBooks payment system.
I’ve attached a screenshot highlighting the affected area. In the example shown, the invoice cadence is set to every two weeks, but the automatic payment checkbox text still reads “weekly.”
So every single client thinks that I am trying to charge them that amount every week, and I have to explain to every single client that it’s a programming error and that I have contacted QuickBooks several times about it over the past couple of years, but they do not want to do the work to fix it.
Anyways, I just thought I would ask again because it is something that has been very frustrating and has caused me drama with clients and I so far have had zero luck in convincing the programming teams to fix the error.
