More Template Options - Companies are not one-size fits all
Moving from Desktop and I was told by sales that there were SO MANY customization options for templates (which was HUGE in our decision making to switch). The handful of templates and lack of customization is a joke. I spent over 10 hours (literally) attempting to create my own via the docx upload and it was an epic fail. Templates should have catergories based on industry. NON of these invoices fit our construction industry. Construction requires a multi-line JOB LOCATION field rather than "Shipping To". We don't need tracking#, ships via, etc. Construction companies require documenting Job/Project Location (name, street, city, state) which 95% of the time is NOT the same as the bill to field, the PO #, the service date (which is usually different than the invoice date, line item description, hours, quantity, rate and line amount. Our job details can usually fill 1-3 pages. I've enclosed sample of one of my desktop templates which I "unsuccessfully" was able to correctly convert to docx and upload to QB online. :-( Please keep in mind that there are hundreds of industries using QB and not all of us fit into the handful of "standard" fields being provided. Researched more and found there a "slightly" a few additional customization options in the 1500/year package. Sad because we are a SMALL business <8 people total. We have NO need for the large package and can not justify spending 1500/year just for an additonal handful of options. We are going to have to go back to desktop as QB online has ZERO template and/or options that can meet our invoicing needs and requirements. Very dissapointed.

Agree! The customization is a joke! I also work in the construction field and used to using desktop version at another company.
AND WHY cant we remove the "ENCLOSED" field - its not needed and just sits there empty all the time - What is it supposed to be anyways??
THEN INTUIT wonders WHY people don't want to move from desktop! Don't get me started on the Projects option (you cant even enter a full address unless you put it in notes)!
