This suggestion is not to do with QuickBooks Online, but your internet browser settings. I am unsure of the steps to change it for other browsers, but here are the instructions for when you are using Chrome:
On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, click the Customize Chrome icon that looks like 3 vertical dots, then click Settings.
Under "Privacy and security," click Site settings.
Near the bottom, click PDF documents.
Click to toggle "Download PDF files instead of automatically opening them in Chrome"
Chrome will now open PDFs automatically when you click them.
