QuickBooks Desktop Help
Getting "QuickBooks Error H202" on two of our three workstations today. The host computer opens the file fine, it's just the other two machines that can't connect. Message says something about not being able to communicate with the host computer over the network.
This is the first time we've seen this specific one. Any ideas?

Since the host machine opens the file fine, this is a network/hosting communication issue between the workstations and host — H202 specifically points to a problem with the connection over your network.
Try this order:
On the host computer, confirm QuickBooks Database Server Manager is running and scan the folder containing your company file.
Check that Windows Firewall on the host isn't blocking QuickBooks ports (usually 8019, plus a dynamic port range).
From the affected workstations, ping the host by name/IP to rule out a basic network drop.
Open QuickBooks Tool Hub on the affected machines → Network Issues tab → run QuickBooks Database Server Manager's network diagnostic.
Confirm all three machines are on the same QuickBooks version/release — mismatched versions can trigger this too.If it's still only two machines failing after this, the firewall or antivirus on those two specific workstations is the most likely culprit — check for a recent Windows/AV update on just those two.
