When entering the account number for my checkbook, I copy it out of my secure, encrypted app on my computer, and then I paste it into your app. This way I know I've entered it correctly.
To make sure it's been entered correctly, your website requires the account number to be entered a second time. But you don't let me paste it in again -- I need to type it in by hand.
This is incredibly annoying, and doesn't increase security or the likelihood of correct input. It is simply a very, very lazy or poor software engineer, checking the number a character at a time -- something that hasn't been acceptable practice since the mid 1990s.
Fire that software engineer, take a HARD look at his manager, and for god's sake, let your customers paste account numbers in on your website, in both fields.
