Quickbooks desktop previously had a proper sales order system. You would create an estimate "quote" for your customer. This would then be converted into a sales order and then invoiced.

This whole process is commonplace in the uk. We were forced to moved to Quickbooks online and even after a number of years this has still not been activated. Apparantly in the US, people dont use sales orders, so it has got ignored. The sales order feature is for linking online website orders, which is not suitable. Come on Quickbooks, lets get some features people need.
