    Hi guys, I need a reality check. Our combi boiler started making this terrifying knocking sound last night (sounds like a skeleton trying to get out, lol), and the hot water is patchy at best. I called a local engineer, and he quoted me £350 just to "take a look and probably replace a sensor," but warned it could go up to £600 if it's the heat exchanger. Is it just me, or does that sound insane?
