I would also like to have the ability to properly resize columns. For example, in looking up customers, and searching for a customer to get a full list of invoices, I am not able to resize the column that shows the number of the invoice. Instead I have to open up each invoice to get the full invoice number every time. This feature existed and worked properly in the previous major version of the desktop app (version 2 I believe?), but in version 3, it is gone. I have tried removing columns from the view, but surprisingly, that does not work.

How is this not done automatically by QB, considering the legal requirements that all clients face? The Internet, the cloud, the world wide web -- none of it is guaranteed forever or even to be at 100% all of the time. It is appalling that this does not exist. I seriously need to research other options to QuickBooks now. This is very bad.

Thank you so much for your feedback on sales form customization in QuickBooks. We acknowledge that we have a ways to go, but we’ve staffed this feature and are making headway.

Right now, we have two versions of form customization running in parallel. In our newest one, we just released a beta of style import, wherein you can bring any *.docx based invoice template and use it in QuickBooks. You may access this feature by going to the gear, then clicking “QuickBooks Labs” > “Import Style.” Not on this version? We are moving people every month and enabling you to keep your old form too! Your default will change to start, but you can always revert to a frozen version of your old form without editing capabilities if you’d like.

Lately we’ve been working on the print infrastructure to ensure you can print larger batches and render PDFs faster, invoice…
