  2. Create project estimate to actual report

    Need to be able to report both summary and detail totals for estimated or budgeted costs to actual costs for a project or client. I currently have to run a profit and loss by client, export to excel, add a budget and difference column.

    Current estimate reports only show estimate to compared to client invoicing. Current budget reports only show totals for general ledger accounts, not details.

    My homebuilder client has many clients or projects, and needs to report actual costs against their budget line items in both summary and detail form. Exporting to Excel and creating additional manual entry…

  3. Make customers' territories sticky.

    It would greatly help us to track sales representative's performance and payroll if we could assign clients to their territories and have those territories remain assigned to the client until/unless we change it. As is, every time we open a new invoice, the territory is pre-populated with the last territory we used for ANY client, not with the territory we last assigned that customer.

  4. Change a mass amount of transactions that were entered as "Bills" to "Expenses"

    Previous bookkeepers were entering expenses and checks as bills. Therefore quickbooks online is showing that these expenses are due. I have two years of expenses/checks that were entered incorrectly as bills.

  6. Open Balance feature on each customer or vendor page

    Please add an "Open Balance" button/link on each customer or vendor page. I used this feature daily in QB Enterprise & QB Desktop Pro for 8 years as a bookeeper. While on the vendor or customer page, I clicked the "Open Balance" link in the upper right section and a quick report popped up showing unpaid invoices (or bills) AND unapplied payments for that particular vendor/customer. It was a highly valuable feature for current status and to help find issues with unapplied payments.

  7. Add location tracking to transfers

    It would be helpful if, when using Location Tracking, we could add location info to transfers. (ie. Transfering funds from one location to another) This way the transfers can also be tracked in a Balance Sheet by Location report. Going the extra mile on this one would be including this option when entering transfers from the Bank Downloads screen.

    Currently the only option I have found is to enter a Journal Entry for this transfer, which is not the most intuitive to use for a lot of business owners.

  8. add ageing columns to the a/r ageing detail report

    The A/R ageing summary has ageing columns by customer. It would be great if we could see this for each invoice on the ageing detail report.

  9. Update Customer by Territory, not just individual invoices

    I would be amazingly helpful if we could update a Customer record with the territory tag and it would update all previous invoices. The way it's set up now, it's a waste of time to go backwards to update customer's paid invoices, so we will not be able to see reports by Territory until new invoices are added.

    Why did QBO get rid of the Sales Rep field?!?! Definitely complicates things and is interrupting reporting!

  11. Changing Customer Invoice / Delivery address

    Would be good if you could select the customer's address and name for a sub customer when invoicing for example:

    Customer A is parent of customer B

    Customer A name is Johns - Accounts Department
    Customer B name is Lorna - Purchasing Department

    If Customer B is selected the default address is

    Lorna - Purchasing Department
    Address Line 1
    Line 2,
    Line 3,

    Would be good to be able to choose Customer B but have a drop down to choose Customer A's address

    Example: 2 x Delayed charges set for Customer B:

    Create invoice for Customer B:

    Add delayed charges…

  12. allocation of supplier credit note

    Allocation of supplier credit note is too hard in QBO. Why you cannot make it simple rather than making 3 or 4 entries?

  13. Allow duplicate customer or Supplier

    QBO Should allow duplicating the names across the supplier and customer. Because the customer can be your supplier or supplier can be your customer.

  16. Directly inquire clients about specific transactions through the bank matching screen

    It would be a nice feature to have the ability to inquire about certain transactions via email/comments directly through the Banking Matching dashboard. I often need to inquire about specific transactions with my client but this involves drafting a separate email or message outside of QBO.

  17. Budget vs Actual performance report that includes YTD like you had in the desktop version.

    That was the #1 report I pulled regularly. Our entire dashboard we present to our board of directors is built around that report. I think I have cobbled a way to create something similar but it requires me to pull multiple reports and piece them together. This is not ideal.

  18. Custom field limitation

    Can the limitation on custom character fields be increased to 300? The current limitation of 30 characters is not sufficient for our business need. Thank you.

  19. When viewing deposits, invoices, estimates, and customer payments install a PREVIOUS button to click just like in the desktop version.

    Install a PREVIOUS button when veiwing Estimates, Invoices, customer payments, and deposits just like the desktop version. So people can look back at transactions in chronological order.
