Make the user rights more flexible and customizable
more flexibility for users would help my company. I am a small business owner and need to concentrate on administrative; book keeping matters. I would love to have our staff have access to our vendor information without having access to the register or have the ability to write checks. This would enable me to hand off vendor invoices for entry and free my time considerably. Unfortunately your on-line version is quite limited. We used your contractor edition software years ago and found those user features worked quite well.
Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated. As our company grows, I can say that without greater user flexibility, unfortunately we will have to make a move to another program that is slightly more diversified.
This is why I left QBO back in 2013. I'm back checking to see if anything has changed or if anyone from Intuit has even given the courtesy of a reply..... Nope.
This is incredibly bad product design and unbelievably terrible responsiveness to customers.
This issue had been so long here, Please just give some respect to all guys who voted and give some replay.
this is huge security issue for too much companies.

I couldn't agree more! I feel that this operating system is not user friendly, I am in the process of looking for another option for my small business. As I do not want to pay an accountant hundreds of dollars a month. QBO has actually taken so many features away that it has gone backwards which is unfortunate. You would think that such a large operating system would have developed a better more user friendly system??? My construction business will be shopping elsewhere and not sticking with QBO, all I can do with QBO is create invoices and even then I have to constantly modify them because when I receive deposits as this post is talking about they can't be reflected on the invoice I am using. It's a billing nightmare!! I am fed up!!

Agree with you Kevin. I run a Bakery and i Can't let my office staff enter bills as they can't enter new items into the chart of accounts for new items we buy I have to give them full access to achieve this. I'M NOT HAPPY THIS THIS SYSTEM I AM HIGHLY THINKING TO CHANGE TO MYOB.
I run Auto Electrical Business and i can't let anyone else do the books but me as i don't want them to see the profit figures.

We need to be able to give or remove more customizeable access to users. For example, we have users who should be able to create estimates and invoices but not receive payments or issue credits. We have users who should be able to add, edit, or delete inventory but not have access to bank account information. It would be most helpful if each area of quickbooks could be given or removed from an individual user on a case-by-case basis.

Most Definitely Alex we use the same system as you we enter parts as well on our computer system using Quick Books Online. We have a few people who access our system but i do not want the to have full access to all of our figures. I think that employees should not be able to view this information if they are employed to do data entry.
Strongly agree with you. I want uses to enter bills but also be able to create new accounts when entering bills but not see financials of the business and employee information.

Ditto. We are developing an in-house sales/project mgmt/crm system that has a LOT of permissions for users and sales reps. If we can do it, QBO can do it. In addition, we have setup Roles, which allows you to create customized permissions for groups of people, rather than one-by-one.

Users with All access have all the limited access rights for:
Customers and Sales
Suppliers and Purchases
In addition, the user can:
Add, edit, and delete employees
View the Activity Log
Create, edit, and delete budgets
Add, edit, and delete accounts
Make deposits and transfer funds
Reconcile accounts and make journal entries
View all reports
Turn on VAT for the company
Change the setup for existing VAT information
Make VAT adjustments
File VAT returns
Set up multicurrency
Perform home currency adjustments
totally agree, I need to give my client access to sales and purchases and reports but I dont want to give them access to the VAT reports or other company settings for example
